The Journal of Clinical Nephrology (JCN) provides waivers on a case-to-case basis depending on the author's country classification. We recognize that some institutions may have limited funding for research activities, and we aim to support researchers by reducing financial barriers to publication.

Eligibility for Waiver

Our primary goal is to accelerate the dissemination of knowledge through high-quality research publications, without placing an undue financial burden on authors or their institutions. Therefore, waivers and discounts are available for:

  • Authors from Low-Income and Middle-Income Countries: Maximum or full waiver may be granted.
  • Institutions with Limited Research Funding: Partial waivers may be considered.
  • Underdeveloped Countries: Up to 50% waiver of article processing charges may be granted.

Waiver Request Process

To apply for a waiver, authors must submit a formal request via email. The waiver application must include:

  • Manuscript Number: Assigned upon submission.
  • Reason for Waiver Request: Justification for financial support.

Waiver requests should be sent to the journal’s official email ID.

Important Notes on Waivers

  • Requests must be made at the time of manuscript submission.
  • Waivers will not be granted after peer review completion.
  • Authors’ inability to pay does not affect the editorial peer review outcome.
  • All waiver applications will be reviewed fairly and confidentially.
